Nemalo Achyutananda Temple(Temples)

Tilakana - the place of birth, Cuttack, near Kendrapada, Odisha

CUTTACK

Acyutānanda was part of the famous Panchasakhā (five friends), who lived between 1450 and 1550 CE. The contemporaneous five saints – Acyutānanda Das, Ananta Das, Jasovanta Das, Jagannātha Das, and Balarāma Das, shaped Vaiṣṇava philosophy, spiritualism and literature of Odisha. In legend he is believed to be an incarnation of Garuda. Nemalo is situated in the Mahanadi River Delta of two Rivers. Mahapurusha Achyutananda was born in the village of Tilakana. After spending several years in different places, as directed by the Lord, he established Nemalo as his primary Seat, until he took Shunya Samadhi here at an age of over a hundred years. The village of Nemalo, a small place with less than a few thousands of inhabitants, is relatively unknown in India but well-known to the people of Odisha, as every year during Snana Poornima (bathing ritual of Lord Jagannath) & Magha Shukla Ekadasi, the place witnesses lakhs of devotees of Shri Achyuta.
